How to Find the Map with Floating Candles
To begin the Ghost of Our Love quest, you must first discover the Map with Floating Candles. The exact location of this map varies depending on which Hogwarts House you chose at the beginning of your journey. Gryffindor students find it on a gravestone in Hogsmeade, while Slytherin players locate it inside a chest within Apollonia's Grotto.
If you belong to Ravenclaw, the map sits at the top of the Owlery tower. Hufflepuff players can claim the parchment from a chest located behind a shop in Upper Hogsfield. Once you collect the map, the side quest automatically activates in your journal.
Navigating to the Starting Location
After acquiring the parchment, open your map and fast travel to the Forbidden Forest Floo Flame checkpoint. The visual clues on the map highlight a stone bridge located just outside the forest entrance. Before proceeding toward the bridge, ensure that your in-game time is set to nighttime.
If it is currently daytime, open your main map interface and use the wait option to advance time immediately. Walk onto the stone bridge facing the direction of the woods. Cast the Lumos spell near the bridge to trigger the magical event.
Following the Floating Candles to the Treasure
Once you cast Lumos, three glowing floating candles will suddenly appear right in front of you. Move forward and follow these magical lights as they guide you past the entrance into the Forbidden Forest. The path remains safe, but stay alert as you navigate through the trees behind the glowing trail.
The candles will eventually stop near a romantic candlelit table with two chairs positioned on a small hill. A hidden treasure chest will reveal itself next to the seating area as you approach. Open the chest to acquire 400 Galleons, a gear piece, and 180 XP to successfully complete the quest.
